In case you were wondering, the Nobu brand was first created by world-renowned chef, Nobu Matsuhisa, Meir Teper and award winning actor, Robert De Niro. Each hotel concept was curated to provide a different experience according to each hotel's said location. With a particular concept in mind for each hotel, they all aim to blend modern luxury with minimal Japanese tradition into the renowned lifestyle that is staying/dining at a Nobu property.

Since the opening of the Nobu brand, they have added to their list of locations exponentially so with hotels now located in Barcelona, Ibiza, London, Toronto, Las Vegas, Chicago, Manila, Miami Beach, Palo Alto, Malibu, Riyadh, São Paulo, Los Cabos, Marbella and Atlanta.

A year later, De Niro suggested to Matsuhisa that he open a restaurant in Tribeca, New York City. After deliberating on the offer, Matsuhisa declined only to accept the offer in 1994 when De Niro brought up the idea again.

Nobu’s restaurants are known to be frequented by many celebrities and as of December 2021, they have 50 working restaurants worldwide. With staple menu items such as Black Cod with Miso and Kumamoto Oysters with Nobu Sauces, no wonder Nobu restaurants are rated of the highest caliber.
