One of the top activities in Punta Cana is the Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park & Reserve. It is a 1,500 acre area that is dedicated to the conservation, research and recreation of local flora and fauna. This area was gifted to the Punta Cana Foundation (Fundación Grupo Puntacana) by Grupo Punta Cana.
This Reserve consists of 12 beautiful freshwater lagoons formed by an underground river that comes up to the surface in different spots. The lagoons are called ‘eyes’ due to their shape. Each lagoon has a Taino name given to represent the native people from that land.
